ABOUT ME

    My name is Roman Ilies. I am a multi-faceted, efficient, passionate & reliable professional with over 10 years experience in Directing and Producing as well as other aspects of filmmaking including editing, cinematography, camera work and sound design; as well as Theatre. Member of Directors Guild of Great Britain. Worked as Trainee Assistant Director on the set of '127 hours' directed by Danny Boyle. Other credits include 'Ken Russell: Sex, God and Tchaikovsky' , 'No Gravity' and the award winning 'Esther'. Proficient in all of the standard office as well as various non-linear editing and VFX software (Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe After Effects, Trapcode Particular etc.). Experienced equally in live, studio and location production. Very confident in all aspects of HD broadcast policies and procedures. Highly experienced multi-camera studio director, p/d and edit producer. Diversified skill sets covering administrative support, client relations, writing, account and project management. Professional, flexible, creative, and service-oriented. One of my goals for the future includes writing/directing a feature film.

    I enjoy making films or participate in Film/TV projects that challenge aspects of human outlook on the world. I am dedicated to discovering, exploring and sharing diverse human perspectives on life, love, politics, spirituality etc. In my filmmaking and writing career I continuously draw inspiration from other arts: Music, Painting, Choreography, Theatre. Some of the filmmakers that imprinted the most upon me are David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, Darren Aronofsky, Wong Kar-wai, Ozu, Alain Resnais.
